The Minister of State for Care has sent an open letter thanking those working in Retirement & Extra Care housing for “playing a vital role in protecting the most vulnerable in our country” .
The minister goes on to say that “To ensure that all the people in your care remain safe, healthy, and comforted as our normal ways of life have been put on hold is a phenomenal achievement“.
“Every Thursday the country has been clapping to show their appreciation for all our health and social care workers, and as I take part, it is your work that is at the front of my mind.”
The letter was sent following a virtual meeting, hosted by RHG and including sector-wide participation, where concerns about access to equipment and key worker status were addressed.
RHG echoes that praise to all workers and providers in the sector who have helped support residents in all sorts of ways through very difficult and sometimes confusing times.
